Double Dilutes
This page is devoted to photos which are examples of Double Dilute horses.

All of these Quarter Horses are Homozygous Cream, which is written "CrCr". Homozygous Cream or Double Dilute horses carry two copies of the cream gene and always pass one cream gene to each foal.

A Black horse has no cream gene... a Black horse with one cream gene is a Smoky Black and a Black horse with two cream genes is a Smoky Cream.

A Bay horse is a Black horse with agouti. A Bay horse has no cream gene. A Bay horse with one cream gene is a Buckskin. A Bay horse with two cream genes is a Perlino.

A Sorrel horse has no cream gene. A Sorrel horse with one cream gene is a Palomino. A Sorrel horse with two cream genes is a Cremello.

*Note: (Some of these horses may also be homozygous black, written "EE", or homozygous agouti, written "AA", and some may carry the dun gene as well.)
