Foundation Quarter Horse - We believe a foundation quarter horse is...
In addition to the outstanding pedigree, Tyrees Pearly Star carries a color guarantee -in fact, he is a 100% color producer. He is a perlino stallion (not cremello) and has color tested as Homozygous Cream (CrCr), Homozygous Black (EE), Homozygous Agouti (AA). He could carry the dun gene since his dam carries dun, however, there is currently no test to confirm that.
What does that mean? He will produce Buckskins. (This means he will be a 100% Buckskin or dunskin -which is buckskin+dun- producer unless the mare also carries a cream gene... then there is the possibility of a perlino as well. If the mare is gray, which would actually only be a modifier of her original color, then the foal would have the possibility of turning gray as well. Unless the mare carries some modifier to her base coat, or a dilution such as / but not limited to cream, pearl, champagne, etc, the foal will be buckskin or dunskin depending upon how he tests for the dun gene. For more details see the color genetics page.) So if a quality buckskin is what you would like, then consider this awesome foundation bred stallion's foals. (Keep in mind that the foal may also inherit the dun gene, we haven't tested him for dun, but his dam is registered as a dun - that would be a wonderful bonus. Then the foals could be buckskin or dunskin.)
Tyrees Pearly Star has good conformation, natural muscling and has an IBC of 9+% (that InBreeding Coefficient is equivalent to approximately three matched pair of chromosomes) and we expect him to be a outstanding prepotent sire.
Foundation breeding at its very best.
How about a little more about him?
