WORD TO PONDER

Do you insist on GOD's BEST for your life or are you just going through the motions? Going along with the crowd...? Do you blend in or do people see that you are different?

So many unbelievers in the world today see NO DIFFERENCE between themselves and those who claim to be Christians. How then are we going to make a difference FOR CHRIST in a lost world full of unsaved people headed for Hell? (We can say the same for the "Church" - the "Church" is the congregation of believers. - What good is salt if it has lost its flavor? - It is useless.) If we as individuals are not willing to stand up... to refuse to live a complacent, mediocre life but instead to insist on GOD's BEST, then the Church won't be the LIGHT of CHRIST shining in us! We cannot expect others to do what GOD has saved US to do.

We are to Glorify HIM! (Yes, PERSONAL responsibility and accountability here.)

Be different for CHRIST!

Ponder...

Is it GOD' BEST for me to "date" every person who turns my head? (Dating is practice for Divorce. If you give a little of your heart each time, what is left for your husband or wife? Marriage is meant to be ONE MAN and ONE WOMAN FOR LIFE.) OR is it GOD's BEST for me to keep my WHOLE HEART and BODY PURE and "flee youthful lusts". To seek GOD's Will for direction as to whether to remain unmarried or to marry. (If HE directs me to marry, then I must GIVE THIS TO GOD and HE WILL show me the husband or wife HE has for me... then I can give myself totally and completely to that ONE person... no need to look around at all, just communicate with HIM and TRUST and OBEY.

Is it GOD's BEST for me to pour myself into those jeans and blouse that is cut closer to the belly button than the collar bone... OR is it GOD's BEST for me to dress MODESTLY so as not to cause my brother in Christ (or anyone else if I have anything to do with it) to stumble... after all, should others see what is to be kept only for my husband alone. (I would think my husband would greatly appreciate it - or at least he SHOULD.) GOD clothed people to COVER their nakedness. So cover the form instead of show it off. We should be decent and clean. Do I desire to be attractive to everyone, or just my husband or wife. Search the heart, and be honest... GOD already knows it. Lust is a sin folks - not matter what lie Satan has told.

Is it GOD's BEST for me to watch that movie full of cussing (or perhaps it only has that one bad word), sex, nudity and immodesty.... OR .... NOT? I mean sometimes you just have to say NO! (I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. Psalm 101:3)

What about turning on the local country radio station? (you KNOW the general theme... drinking, cheating, leaving... -oh and let's don't forget the other stations with added themes such as killing, raping etc.) Hmmmm...

Do we spend our money at the store that promotes gambling or the sale of liquor or pornography? OR is it GOD's BEST to support one that doesn't promote or participate in those things? (Yes even if it is a little higher, or not as convenient for me...)

Would it PLEASE CHRIST? That IS what we are here for, isn't it? (To please YOU in all things, to walk in YOUR ways, to please YOU in all things, and it's all by YOUR GRACE. -praise and worship song)

The more we see sin or partake in sin, the colder our hearts grow... until it becomes acceptable... (Abortion.... A prime example of an abomination to our LORD that is acceptable in the world as a whole. Children conceived outside of the Marriage Covenant... many things are acceptable in our world today, but that does not make them pleasing to GOD.)

We MUST seek GOD's BEST and settle not the World's Norm.

We should weigh the things we do, say, watch, listen to, participate in all by what the HOLY SCRIPTURE says.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are good, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

Study to show thyself approved unto GOD a workwan that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the WORD of TRUTH. (2 Timothy 2:15)
